Aviation Noise

Aviation Noise

Aviation noise monitoring is a common activity in the largest airports in the world, being an important instrument for monitoring and managing impacts related to aeronautical operations. In this sense, annually, RIOgaleão monitors and records the level of aeronautical noise in which it characterizes the sound levels resulting from the movement of aircraft in the SBGL and in the surroundings of the airport site. The annual report also presents the community's records on the subject and evaluates the impact of the operations on the neighborhood, in addition to verifying that the operations meet the noise curves approved by the competent authority.

The Aeronautical Noise Management Commission (CGRA) is also an important tool for the management of this theme and is regulated by RBAC 161. In December 2016, RIOgaleão instituted the SBGL's CGRA, in which it has been permanently involved in the analysis of the records of the surrounding communities, conversations with public agencies and the annual report on aviation noise monitoring.

More information on the regulation of Aeronautical Noise can be accessed on the official website of the National Civil Aviation Agency – ANAC.
